Just to let folks know that I have just received notification from the O2 Community Funding scheme of a grant towards making our hall more energy efficient. The form was incredibly easy [compared to to others!] and is all done on line. They notified me within 4 weeks of completing the form. I have also just been on a free training course run by CAfE who support community energy efficiency projects - check them out! Hopefully I can now lower our crippling electricity bill.....

We are having problems with user groups leaving on heaters etc so we need timed thermostats. www.o2.com/cr/community_fund.asp

If you are based in Herefordshire then there is a free Effective Energy Training Day coming up that may also be useful in outlining grants available and things you can do to reduce energy consumption. For more details see http://www.herefordshireva.org/free_effective_energy_training_day

Have added the O2 grant to our list of community buildings funders, which can be obtained from me. mattl@comfirst.org.uk looks really good and would be open to a range of projects. Very good find.
